"Hamster tubes" that house conveyor belts used for moving coal from one portion of the tipple to another. Coal was sorted and loaded onto railcar for transportation to seaports on the west coast and for use in steelmaking in Ontario until this facility was decomissioned in the 1980s.

Great image, the diagonals really do their job of leading to the eyes around this picture. Nice composition  I def. life it.

Hey, this one's one of your best so far. Very well balanced picture. And the title is a delight, too!
:iconagent-nox:
Thank you. I wish I could take credit for the title, but Fyrephreak [link] was the one who referred to them as "hamster tubes" first. I just went for the alliteration.

So you and Phreak go exploring together? Anyone else on your team?
:iconagent-nox:
There are several others in town we explore with semi-regularly, and a handful of people in Edmonton we meet up with occasionally. But often it's the two of us. He's great to explore with, since he understands that sometimes you need to stand in the same spot, fussing with incremental tripod height for 20 minutes.
